Java, Joe, brew, aka Coffee …….it’s the most traded commodity in the world, second only to oil! According to statisticbrain.com, there are 100 million coffee drinkers in in the USA and they spend 18 billion dollars (Yeah that’s right BILLION!!) every year on specialty coffee…..and yet, do you realize how hard it is to find a really great cup of it??!! In some places it’s nearly impossible!! Even at some of the specialty coffee cafés, coffee ends up having a taste so bad that you wonder why people drink the stuff and visit that café.
Hi, I’m Island Mike Java and welcome to my blog, Coffee Bean Paradise. Coffee is a passion for me. No, I’m not some specially trained barista, (although I am very grateful for them). I’m just an average guy who loves good …..no great, coffee. I’m tired of drinking coffee where the beans have been overly roasted, the coffee is too bitter or too weak or it tastes like the package it came in. I just don’t drink coffee for the simple reason of wanting to be more alert at 5am when I get up in the morning, although it does help. Coffee is more than just a morning ritual, although drinking a cup or two or three, is normally part of my mornings. No, I drink coffee because I simply love the flavor of good coffee in all its many different varieties and ways it’s prepared.
So let’s go on a journey together where we’ll discover some of world’s best coffee, some of the best ways to prepare coffee and the best places to find a great cup of coffee. We’ll certainly run into roadblocks and problems along the way, but fortunately because you’ll read about me having these problems first, you’ll not have to experience them.
